Allen Millwork of Shreveport
New Life For Old Storage Racks |
|
Allen
Millwork of Shreveport, LA, a leading manufacturer
and distributor of construction building materials
had a major problem on their hands. Years earlier
they had purchased an automated load/unload storage
system for handling long lumber in loose bundles.
Due to years of abuse, the system had gotten to a
point that only a portion could be used effectively
and the system integrity was in jeopardy.
Kurt Nelson was contacted to see if Nelson Equipment
Co., Inc. could assist in repairing the system and
its components thus bringing it back to a useful
life. One of the challenges was that the system had
to be repaired without disassembling it, so that it
could still be used in the areas where it was still
functional. And the repairs could not interfere
with the company’s day to day operations.
Nelson Equipment Co., Inc. was able to bring in its
maintenance and repair resources to analyze the
system and create a solution. The end result was
an upgraded and repaired system for a fraction of
the cost that it would have been to replace this
vital system.
If your storage system is damaged or in need of
repair, contact Nelson Equipment Co., Inc. for an
analysis and recommendation.

Pod Pack
Production Was Out Pacing Equipment
|
|
When
a leading specialty-packaging manufacturer was faced
with the requirement of increasing production from
one of its packaging lines, they turned to Nelson
Equipment Co., Inc. for a solution.
Nelson’s sales engineer, Scott Callihan evaluated
the process and found that the equipment was out
pacing the production labor on that machine.
Packaging personnel were receiving single packages
that had to be consolidated and over packed in a
corrugated box. Each corrugated box required
multiple layers of seven packages. The solution
that Scott Callihan designed was to have a small
conveyor system index seven packages at one time and
then present them to the packager as one by
utilizing a special right angle pusher manufactured
by Hytrol Conveyor in the proper orientation so that
all the person had to do was place the product into
the corrugated box. The net result was a triple in
the production rate and the customer met its
customer demands.
This solution is just another example that it does
not always require a complex and expensive solution
to improve quality and capacity. If you are
struggling to keep up with the demands on your
production facility, call the experts from Nelson
Equipment Co., Inc. |
