Wildeck Announces New EdgeGard™ Dock Gates

Innovative Folding-Rail design protects wider openings and minimizes the required overhead height clearance.

Wildeck has unveiled an innovative new line of EdgeGard™ dock gates featuring a unique Folding-Rail design that protects wider openings than traditional dock gates and minimizes the required overhead gate clearance height.  Besides the new low-profile folding gate, Wildeck also announced a heavy-duty, Straight-Rail Dock Gate that the company claims, “. . . will out-perform the majority of competitive units on the market today.”

According to Hue Schlegel - Wildeck’s Director of Marketing, “We are extremely pleased to offer our new line of EdgeGard™ gates to improve loading dock safety.  They have been designed with Wildeck quality built in and are easy to install and operate.  When properly anchored, they provide an effective barrier for equipment and personnel working near open dock doors, truck loading pits, or other hazardous areas.”

Code-compliant Wildeck^® EdgeGard™ gates have been tested to withstand the 200 lb. OSHA 1910.23 load force protection requirement.  For increased visibility, the gates have black safety striping and a durable bright yellow polyurethane paint finish.  When closed, the gates are 42” high (above floor level) and they are offered in four configurations to adapt to specific customer needs.  The heavy-duty EdgeGard™ Straight-Rail Gate is available for either 8 ft. or 10 ft. wide openings with the 10 ft. wide gate requiring 167” of overhead height clearance when raised.  The Straight-Rail Gate also features counterbalanced gas cylinders that make opening an effortless task.  Wildeck’s new EdgeGard™ Folding-Rail Gate is available for 10 ft. or 12 ft wide openings and requires only 116” maximum height clearance.

 Wildeck’s EdgeGard™ Gates feature a smooth cantilever action that ensures easy operation and reduces operator fatigue.  Convenient grip handles are provided for proper lifting and the Folding-Rail Gate has a rubber floor wheel that guides and simplifies movement.  When raised, the gate completely clears the protected opening offering unimpeded traffic flow and maximum accessibility.  When closed, the gate is held securely in place and does not move.

The addition of the new EdgeGard™ Gates expand Wildeck’s lineup of facility safety guarding products including several mezzanine safety gates, safety ladders, and a comprehensive portfolio of Wilgard^® guard rail and related guarding products.

New Rear Hinge Spiral Brush Seal for pit levelers

Food distribution customers will be very interested in the new Rear Hinge Spiral Brush Seal from APS Resource.  Food distribution is required to use brush seal for their levelers.  The new spiral seal is 1½” diameter spiral brush wound on a ¼” spiral aluminum rod. 

This spiral brush is best utilized in Kelley and Serco Brand levelers.  The spiral brush can be ordered as part #AP6032 at a cost of $70. 

It is (2) – 45½” lengths of the 1½” diameter spiral brush to be overlapped in the rear hinge to accommodate various widths and applications.
