NEW CORPORATE MISSION STATEMENT UNVEILED

Through its efforts in continuous improvement, Nelson Equipment Co., Inc. has updated its mission statement to better define the companies purpose.  The updated statement was created as a joint task undertaken by the employees of the company.  The challenge given to the employees was to describe the corporate mission in one sentence.  Here is the result of their effort:

“Professionals assisting professionals in continuous improvement methods by providing innovation and measurable value through proven solutions.”

This mission statement will be used in all upcoming advertising and marketing initiatives undertaken by the company according to company President, Mark Nelson

NECI RECEIVES CONTRACT AWARDS

Nelson Equipment Co., Inc. has recently entered into a contract for providing automation for a major international manufacturing firm with multiple location here in the United States and abroad. For its part, Nelson Equipment will be providing equipment design and integration services to this leading manufacturer of specialty metals & composite materials.  Ray Doughty, corporate sales engineer for Nelson has worked closely with the company and its corporate engineering group to provide solutions to a new manufacturing facility that is scheduled to begin operation later this year.

 Nelson Equipment Co., Inc. has also entered into a contract with a leading food & beverage corporation to provide automation services for facilities located on the West Coast.  Sales engineer Scott Callihan of Nelson has worked with this organization on past projects with great success.  These new facilities are scheduled to begin operations within the next few months.

 In an unrelated contract, Nelson has received contracts for storage & handling equipment from a major oil & gas equipment manufacturer.  This project is scheduled for implementation beginning the month of July.

Putting the “Sport” into Project Management Support

Nelson Equipment Company successfully implemented the material handling requirements for one of the leading sporting goods distributors in the nation.  Aside from the demand for quality equipment, a primary concern for this customer was implementing the project on-time so that the company could occupy the facility as soon as possible with no interruption of daily order commitments to their customers.  To do this, Nelson took on project management responsibility to coordinate delivery and installation of all equipment from multiple suppliers while working closely with the general contractor, the owner, and its representatives.  This was no small task with over 18 truck loads of material being received on a coordinated basis and installed without interfering with other operations taking place. 

The end result?  All equipment was operational and afforded the customer to move one division from its current location to the new facility over a two weekend period without missing a shipment to its customers.  Now that’s a partnership.
