NECI Provides a Smooth Ride for Customer Satisfaction

Intralox, a modular plastic belt manufacturer in Harahan, LA, needed a way to transport pallets and carts from the ground level up to the second floor, where they could then be passed through a door opening. Robert LePayre of Intralox had worked with Nelson Equipment Company before, and contacted the company for a solution. Nelson President Mark Nelson and Sales Engineer Jonathan Thorne evaluated the products being moved, the operating environment, operating cycles, safety requirements and the overall expectations of the customer in order to meet Intralox's needs. The Wil-Lift machine from Wildeck did just that.

With the ability to customize products based upon application, Wildeck was able to work with Nelson and Thorne to build a Wil-Lift hydraulic straddle lift for the tight operating space. The 6 ft. wide by 5 ft. deep platform went from a vertical lift gate on the ground level up to a double door on the upper level, operating in sync with safety controls. The machine allows a smooth transition of product from one level to the next without disrupting forklift traffic in the area, despite the pallet-racking to the immediate right of the unit and additional obstructions to the left.

NECI's ability to evaluate the customer's needs, coupled with Wildeck's ability to customize its products, gave Intralox the solution it needed to comfortably maintain its daily operations in the tight workspace.

Hytrol PLEZD Accumulating Belt Conveyor

Hytrol's model PLEZD is a heavy-duty plastic belt accumulation conveyor, ideal for accumulating heavy unitized or palletized loads. It combines the intelligence of the EZLogic Accumulation System with the efficiency of the EZDrive System. The PLEZD utilizes the dependability of the plastic belt to convey loads considered nonconveyable with conventional roll-to-roll conveyor, such as flexible plastic pallets, footed pallets and mis-oriented conventional wooden pallets. The PLEZD also features:

  • Shaft Mounted Drives, no drive chains to maintain
  • 13 in. minimum top-of-belt elevation
  • Capacity up to 2,000 lbs. per zone
  • Soft Start/Soft Stop and Variable Frequency Drive options available
  • Zone Lengths from 30 in. to 120 in.

The Hytrol model PLEZD provides greater productivity and more throughput of product in operation. For more information, please contact NECI at (318) 688-9970.

Steel King Safety Products Protect Your Investment

Steel King Industries provides several products to protect customers' capital investment, as well as to protect employees in the work environment. The products below not only reduce capital equipment damage and maintenance costs, they can also potentially reduce Workers' Compensation claims and insurance premiums.

Steel Guard
OSHA estimates that there are 68,400 accidents involving industrial trucks each year, with approximately 90,000 workers suffering from some type of injury in these accidents. Steel Guard protective railing is a cost-effective barrier against the effects of these accidents. Steel Guard is:

  • specifically engineered for fork truck protection
  • prefabricated, eliminating all on-site core drilling, cutting, welding or painting
  • modular, expanding and relocating easily as needs change
  • less costly, due to decreased installation time and mass production of components.

Mega Guard
Mega Guard is an all-welded steel protector designed to help keep forklift trucks and other in-plant vehicles from damaging facilities and equipment, while protecting employees. Mega Guard is constructed of rugged 4 in. square by 1/4 in. wall structural steel tubes welded to 10 in. by 10 in. by 5/8 in. baseplates, which are prepunched for anchoring to a concrete surface. The unit is painted with bright yellow durable powder coat paint. Mega Guard is prefabricated and installed using anchor bolts.

Guard Dawg
Prevent costly rack damage with Guard Dawg. The bright yellow units are anchored to the floor, protecting the vulnerable areas of your rack rows. Guard Dawg comes in two standard sizes and can also be ordered in custom sizes. Right, left or double-ended guards are available with a 5 in. by 3 in. by 3/8 in. angle to protect upright columns measuring three or four inches wide. Anchors and hardware are included.

Snap-Guard
Increase abuse resistance on SK2000 upright columns with Snap-Guard column protectors, an adjustable column protector for boltless rack that protects the upright rack column from forklift damage. Snap-Guard features a 4-rivet connection that automatically locks into the upright column and can be adjusted in 2-inch increments. A remove and adjust tool to use with the unit is also available.

Column Core
Forklift damage is the core factor in about 90% of rack failures. Column Core is available exclusively as a component to Steel King's SK2000 tubular racks. Column Core features a double C-shaped column reinforcement, making your rack five times more impact resistant at the front corners and sides where the upright is most vulnerable. Column Core allows you to retain full beam adjustability, reduces puncturing, buckling and torsional twisting, and increases the protection of your equipment without additional installation costs.
